In reading this past week, we learned about summarizing and synthesizing. In math we worked on fractions, including equivalent fractions. In writing we continued with our short fiction unit, where the students are putting their characters into everyday situations while showing what their characters do, say, think and feel in each moment. In social studies we continued to learn about Illinois history, including Illinois government. The students researched various topics, created posters, and will teach the rest of the class about their topic next week. Our next science unit is Light and will begin at the end of April.
Important Information
- Grammar quiz this Tuesday: forms of the verbs be, do, and have (a review packet went home Friday)
- 3rd grade music show this Thursday at 9:45!
- Weather Simulator is this Friday in the afternoon
- April Reading Log due Friday, May 1st
- Unit 8 Math Test is scheduled for Monday, April 27th
- Last genre project scheduled for the end of April/May
